School Uniforms 2014 2015

School Uniforms 2014 - 2015

This year we have a mandatory school uniform program next year.  We are excited to distinguish ourselves in style with our new uniform program.  Next year, students will wear white polos with logo, white dress shirts, MJP t-shirts, black pants, slacks, shirts, skorts, jumpers, uniform shorts, MJP sweat suits, black sweaters / sweater vests /vests /cardigans, and black sneakers/dress shoes.  Students are expected to have shirts tucked in with a belt around their slacks. Sports Coats/Ties are encouraged but not expected.  No jeans, jeggings, or sandals are allowed.

We sell the Michael J. Perkins T-shirts for $10.00 each at the school.  L & M Bargain Stores also serves as a main supplier for our school uniform. We are grateful to form a partnership with L & M because they serve thousands of other Boston Public School families with quality school uniforms at great prices.  We will provide a more comprehensive description of our uniform program in our summer letters to families.   For more information call the school at 617-635-8601.

MJP Student Principals for A Day 2014

On June 5, 2014, Principal Martin declared seven students, Student Principal for a Day. These Student Principals for a Day had an opportunity to shadow Mr. Martin in his day-to-day duties; observe teaching and learning; interview Mr. Billy, our School Custodian, Ms. Correa-Gonzalez, our Family & Community Outreach Coordinator, and Ms. Thomas, our School Secretary; problem-solved on a minor student discipline issue, order school supplies for next school year; and make decisions on Field Day. This was a very momentus event in the history of Michael J. Perkins. Stay tuned for our next MJP Student Principal for a Day in Fall 2015.
